CNS 2015 Prague: Meeting Banquet

Royal canonry of Premonstratensians at Strahov

Gala dinner in Strahov monastery restaurant (Velká klášterní restaurace) - 19:30 Tuesday July 21st 2015

Established in 1140 by the Olomouc Bishop with assistance from the Czech Duke and subsequently Czech King Vladislav II, the Monastery at Strahov is an extensive complex located near Prague Castle at the beginning of the Royal Way.

Strahov monastery restaurant caters for large and small groups owing to its segmented layout. The cuisine offered by the restaurant is an open range, and includes traditional Bohemian specialities prepared according to age-old recipes. The wine served by the restaurant comes from its own Moravian Premonstratensian cellars and bears the name of the founder of the order – St Norbert. Evening visitors enjoy a programme of folk music with demonstrations of traditional Bohemian and Moravian dancing in period costumes.

Just steps from the restaurant you can enjoy a beautiful view on Prague with a Petrin hill on the right and Prague castle on the left. You can go down hill to Lesser Town, Charles Bridge and the the city centre.
